1. What is the best time of the year to visit Mauritius?
Mauritius is a tropical island and the weather is pleasant all year round. During summer (October to April) temperatures range from 28°c to 34°c.During “winter” (May to September) temperatures range from 22°c - 27°c.
2. What is the best part of the island to stay on?
Mauritius has a multitude of beautiful beaches on each of its coasts. The best location for you depends on what you are looking for during your holidays in Mauritius. The northern parts of the island are well known for shopping, night life and sailing. The natural beauty of the south attracts many holidaymakers and the west is known for its beautiful white beaches and an array of water sports.
3. What languages are spoken in Mauritius and the Seychelles? Are translators available?
The official language is English.
French and Mauritian Creole are fluently spoken and Hindi and Bhojpuri are also widely spoken. Translators are available. Furthermore, many hotel staff and local guides speak foreign languages.

6. Do I need any vaccinations before going to Mauritius or the Seychelles?
Vaccinations are not necessary for visiting our hotels in Mauritius or the Seychelles. However, we suggest that you speak to your doctor for more information.
7. What time zone is Mauritius in?
Mauritius’ standard* local time is 4 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT +4). There is no daylight saving time in Mauritius.

2. Are beach towels provided?
Beach towels are provided free of charge in all Beachcomber hotels.
3. What are different meal plans available?
Bed & Breakfast: price includes accommodation per night, breakfast is included.
Half board: price of the room is per night, breakfast and dinner are included.
Full board plus: price includes room per night, breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. This is an optional package available at Paradis Hotel & Golf Club and Trou aux Biches Resort & Spa.
All-inclusive*: price of the room is per night, all meals and drinks and certain activities are included.
*optional at Sainte Anne Resort & Spa, Le Victoria, Le Canonnier and Le Mauricia. Shandrani Resort & Spa is a fully-inclusive resort.
4. Are taxes included in the price of the room?
Yes, all taxes (15%) are included.
5. Is topless sunbathing allowed?
In Mauritius topless sunbathing is not authorized on any beach.
6. Is there a nurse or doctor available at your resorts?
A nurse and/or doctor is available upon request in all Beachcomber hotels. Nurses’ services are complimentary but there is a charge for the doctor’s consultation and the medication.
7. Do you have an onsite store and pharmacy?
“Beachcomber boutiques” are available in all out hotels in Mauritius and in the Seychelles. You will find a selection of clothing, beachwear, souvenirs and basic care products such as sun cream but no medication. Pharmacies and shops can be found close to all Beachcomber hotels.
8. What is your policy regarding tipping?
Tips are included in the price of your stay, this said, tipping is at your discretion.
9. What credit cards/ forms of payment are accepted in your resorts?
Online payment can be made with Visa and MasterCard.
Payments made at the hotel can be done with the following cards: American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Diners.
10. Is there WIFI access in your resorts?
Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available in all rooms as well as specific public areas of all Beachcomber resorts.
While connecting to our complimentary Wi-Fi, you should apply same level of care as for connexion to any Hotspot Wi-Fi network. It is your responsibility to secure your devices against external threats. We recommend that you consult the instructions supplied with your devices to ensure that they are properly secured for use on this type of network.
We are using up-to-date Wi-Fi technology but we cannot guarantee the compatibility of all your devices with our system.
11. Does your resort have a helipad?

12. What is Beachcomber’s interchange policy?
When you spend a minimum of seven nights in one of our hotels, you have the ability to spend two of those nights in any other Beachcomber hotel.
A supplement is applicable if you ask for any kind of upgrade, whether it is a hotel upgrade, room upgrade or meal plan upgrade.
If the interchange takes place on the same meal plan, in an equivalent room category and within a hotel of same category, the client will not be charged a supplement.
Requests and more information regarding interchange must be made at the reception once you have arrived at your hotel.
13. Can I organize events and or private evenings?
If you wish to organize an event or private evening, this can be done prior to your arrival or once you have arrived at the hotel by contacting the PR department.
For events involving more than 10 pax please contact our Groups & Incentives department.
1. Do your resorts cater for food allergies/ diet specifications?
Upon arrival, we will organize a meeting with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Manager to understand your requirements and ensure that the appropriate meals are available.
2. Can I make reservations for dining online?
Reservations for dining can only be made once you are at the hotel. A restaurant reservation desk is located at the reception for you to book your table once you have arrived.
3. What is the dress code for restaurants?
Day time: Casual/Smart casual according tot he hotel.
Evening: Elegant – men should wear a shirt, trousers and closed shoes.
4. Is the tap water safe to drink?
Although tap water is safe to drink, we would recommend that you use bottled water.
1. What facilities and activities do you have for children?
All Beachcomber hotels offer a complimentary kids club. The “Bob Marlin mini-club” is open to children aged 3 to 12 and offers a variety of activities for all ages. A specific program is posted at the mini-club with daily activities. Children who are old enough can also participate in the sports and leisure activities offered at the hotel.
A “Teens club” is available at the Trou aux Biches Resort & Spa. Teenagers staying at Le Victoria can also enroll in the special teens’ programme for adolescents aged 13 to 19.
2. Is there a baby-sitting service?
All Beachcomber hotels offer a baby-sitting service with a supplement.
Baby-sitting services must be requested with 24-hour notice.
1. Will I have access to TV channels and a DVD player in my room?
Satellite TV channels in several languages are available in all rooms. The room directory will indicate the channels and languages available.
DVD players are available only in certain room categories.
2. Do I need to bring an electrical adaptor?
The hotel provides electrical adaptors so you do not have to add one to your packing list.
Please note that hairdryers are provided in all rooms.
AROUND THE HOTEL
1. What excursions are available? How do I organize excursions/ activities outside the hotel?
Beachcomber Hotels works with White Sand Tours, a local DMC with extensive experience. You can visit several places of interest, as well as organize full or half day trips to visit different parts of the island, all you need to do is contact the White Sand Tours representative or the concierge at your Beachcomber hotel.

2. How do I organize transfers?
Beachcomber Hotels works with White Sand Tours, a local DMC with extensive experience. Whatever your transfer needs may be, White Sand Tours will be able to cater for them. All you need to do is contact the concierge or the White Sand Tours representative at your Beachcomber hotel.
Beachcomber Hotels also has representatives at an airport counter to assist guests upon arrival.
