Situado nas encostas vulcânicas do vulcão inactivo do Grand Bassin a 500 metros acima do nível do mar e cercado por plantações de chá, Avalon é o lugar mais alto onde se pode jogar golfe nas Maurícias.  As vistas sobre a costa do sul, lagoa e Oceano Índico são simplesmente idílicas e, num dia de claridade, são visíveis todos os 18 buracos.
