Ilha Bénitiers: Um Toque de Verde na Lagoa Azul-turquesa do Sudoeste

Uma ilhota arborizada, a sudoeste da Ilha Maurícia, a ilha Bénitiers estende-se ao longo de 500 hectares, 500 metros das aldeias de Grande Case Noyale e La Gaulette.

Tem 2 quilómetros de comprimento, ao longo de um eixo norte-sul, e uma largura máxima de 500 metros.

A ilha Bénitiers deve o seu nome a uma concha transformada em fonte de água benta pelos missionários. Pode ser propriedade privada, mas sua faixa de terra, uma faixa de areia coberta e descoberta pelo oceano, está acessível ao público. As magníficas praias afundam nas águas cristalinas com que qualquer Robinson da nova era sonharia.

500 metros a oeste da ilha de Bénitiers está outra atração que adorna as lagoas do sudoeste: Crystal Rock. Assemelha-se a um cristal a flutuar no oceano. Pode nadar facilmente à sua volta ou subir enquanto imortaliza este momento com uma câmara.
