Since 1991, Shandrani Beachcomber has celebrated the beauty of Mauritius. Set in an exceptional location between a protected marine park and lush tropical gardens, in the heart of an unspoilt region, the resort has invited guests year after year to enjoy stays rich in experiences.
True to its cheerful atmosphere and warm sense of hospitality, the hotel will be filled with celebration as from August. Thoughtful touches, special highlights and shared moment will create a warm and convivial moment for guests and Artisans alike as they honour this special anniversary.

Special workshops will regularly offer guests a fun glimpse behind the scenes of hotel life, while weekly highlights will set the pace throughout this celebratory programme.
Weekly highlights
On Tuesdays, Le Grand Port restaurant will host a Mauritian evening, with a live sega performance, a buffet celebrating the many flavours of Mauritius, and décor inspired by the island’s colours. It will be a wonderful opportunity to discover the richness of Mauritian culture and its diverse influences, while experiencing the warm art of hospitality for which the island is so well loved.
Every Wednesday, the hotel management will host a cocktail reception to thank the hotel’s guests. VIPs, returning guests, members of the press and commercial partners will be invited to enjoy an informal drink with the hotel’s management team — a relaxed moment to look back fondly on Shandrani Beachcomber’s finest memories, and to look forward with excitement to the next 35 years.
On Saturdays, hotel guests can look forward to a full programme of activities. Those seeking rest and relaxation will enjoy afternoon yoga sessions: 35 minutes of practice, in a nod to the anniversary, held outdoors in changing settings or within the spa. A quiet moment to breathe, unwind and recentre.
In the evening, from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., guests will gather at the Boathouse for a DJ set accompanied by a barbecue. Hot dogs, a laid-back playlist and the glow of sunset will bring the day to a beautiful close… before thoughts turn, already, to the next one.
Guest experience workshops
Shandrani Beachcomber's Artisans invite hotel guests to step into their world through a series of creative workshops. Napkin folding, cocktail making, culinary creations… each session will offer an immersive experience centred on the craft and expertise that define Beachcomber.
At Beachcomber, no anniversary feels truly complete without original culinary creations. In keeping with this tradition, Shandrani Beachcomber will offer guests both a signature cocktail and a signature dish adding flavour to the festivities.

First served when the hotel opened in 1991, the Shandrani Surprise makes its grand return to the menu for the hotel’s 35th anniversary.

Throughout August, the signature dish of Chef Coopen, Executive Chef at Shandrani Beachcomber, will be served in the hotel’s restaurants, except for Le Grand Port.

The name Shandrani is said to mean “Queen of the Moon”. Drawing on this poetic imagery, the hotel’s Beachcomber spa will celebrate the anniversary with a collection of treatments entitled “Moon & Ocean Wellness Journeys” — a graceful nod to the spirit of the place.
